The Greene County Rams lost a road game 3-0 in Alleman against the North Polk Comets Monday evening. The Comets are now 15-1 in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference. The Rams are 7-9 in the conference and 8-13 overall.
Junior Riah Nelsen pitched for the Rams. He struck out seven batters and walked four. Two of the Comets’ runs were earned.
The Rams had four hits for the game, but left five runners on base. Nelsen and sophomore Daric Whipple hit doubles and juniors Alex Rasmussen and Jordan Hostetler got singles. North Polk pitchers grabbed 12 strikeouts from the Rams.
